Tracking GhostNet: Investigating a Cyber Espionage Network (report).
In March of 2009, researchers at Infowar Monitor uncovered GhostNet, a cyber espionage network in control of 1,295 computers at high profile organizations around the world. GhostNet used socially engineered malware to thwart standard network security measures and was used to exfiltrate sensitive documents and other material to control servers in China.
The GhostNet researchers and Palantir are available to provide briefs on the anatomy of this exploit and to present an integrated model for effective cyberspace operations.
To request a GhostNet brief for your organization, email shreyas@palantirtech.com.
