The primary caveat, is that one must learn from their mistakes so that they don’t fail the same way twice. We take failure as an opportunity to come together as a team and literally ask “why?” until we’re confident that we’ve diagnosed the problem and that we’ve figured out how to prevent it from happening again. At Palantir, hiding a failure is taboo; instead, you get respect for letting the rest of the company know what happened and how they can avoid making the same mistake.
