Information Security Engineering Lead

Palantir is seeking an Information Security Engineering Lead with an experienced hand in system and network administration to augment its IT department. You will be responsible for safeguarding our ever-growing network against compromise and assault in addition to guiding its growth and advising on security necessities every step of the way. Each day will see new, complex problems that will demand creative, unexpected solutions, and every one of those solutions will live and die by your action and effort.

Responsibilities
- Provide security guidance for network infrastructure
- Secure/harden operating systems against compromise
- Assist in network/unix infrastructure design
- Develop creative solutions to complex technological challenges
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux system administration with a focus on security
- Superior knowledge of UNIX
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
- Strong unix system programming using a shell and a higher level language
- Experience building Linux kernels and troubleshooting kernel issues
- Experience with securing public websites
- Willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
- Strong organization and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong knowledge in various disciplines (dns, ldap, smtp, ssh, ssl, ntp, cryptography, package managers, tcp/ip internals, etc)
- Experience with log analysis
Preferred
- CISSP
- BS/MS in Computer Science
- TS/SCI security clearance or willingness to get cleared
- Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems (nagios, cacti, etc)
- Experience with configuration and patch management tools
- Experience with IDS and IPS systems
